What we do
The Slocan Valley Early Childhood Community Advisory Council is a voluntary council of organizations, service providers, and parents focused on the well-being of young children and their families in the south Slocan Valley (from Slocan to South Slocan). Council efforts and activities stem from the knowledge that strong families, supported by healthy communities, give children their best start in life. Children’s development during the early years, from 0-6, impacts their health and abilities to succeed throughout their lives and to become contributing citizens. By working together, the Council reduces duplication, identifies gaps in service, creates strong networks, and supports programs and initiatives for families and young children in the Slocan Valley.
SVECCAC meets quarterly, and is guided by its Terms of Reference and Strategic Plan that was developed in consultation with the community over 2008 and 2009.
